Welcome to Castle Dewey Cottages

at Whitewalls Farm

WHITEWALLS FARM is situated high up on Carburrow Tor, overseeing a spectacular landscape of moorland and wooded valleys stretching in the far distance to the sea at St Austell Bay. The Tor is littered with Bronze and Iron Age remains, and is grazed by a small herd of semi-wild ponies. A 5 minute walk to the top is rewarded with the most beautiful view across to Roughtor and Brown Willy, the highest point in Cornwall. A timeless ancient landscape.

Visitors at DREAMCATCHER cottage are welcome to explore our farm and the land around. Click here for a closer look.

Castle Dewey is a 70 acre Cornish smallholding, certified organic by the Soil Association. It belongs to the Lane family, who arrived in Cornwall from Scotland at the beginning of 2004. The farm consists of a small organic beef herd, some sheep, hens for eggs, mostly ex-battery hens, some Kune Kune pigs which are pets, and various rescued ponies. There is also an organic vegetable garden.

The holiday cottages at Whitewalls Farm have been recently converted from an old farmhouse and outbuildings, to offer eco-friendly countryside holidays in a beautiful and peaceful setting in the middle of Bodmin Moor. Central heating is provided via a wood-burning boiler, the water comes from a bore hole, all bed-linen is organic fair-trade cotton and a recycling centre encourages all guests to recycle their rubbish and to contribute to the compost heap!

We are lucky enough to live in a wild and romantic place, which we love sharing with our guests in DREAMCATCHER Cottage, which sleeps 4.
